Lady Colonels done with basketball until after Thanksgiving holiday

The Indianola Academy Lady Colonels will be taking a 10-day break from live basketball action after tonight’s game against Canton Academy was called off.

Owning a 3-3 record after splitting their games played this past week, the Lady Colonels closed out their pre-Thanksgiving schedule against Washington School Tuesday night.





Rams knock out CCHS

With three consecutive home-court wins under their belt the Gentry High Rams basketball team is turning in a strong start to their young season.

Owning a 3-1 record following Tuesday night’s 73-52 victory over Cleveland Central High School, the Rams will now take an extended break from live action.






Tigers start playoffs

The second season, also known as the playoffs, has now arrived for the Thomas E. Edwards Senior High Tigers football team.

Along with that arrival is a trip this Friday from Ruleville to Ackerman where a 7 p.m. kickoff against the Choctaw County High Chargers will begin the Tigers’ participation in the State 3A playoffs.




Next stop, Marshall Academy: IA pounces on Tunica, heads to Holly Springs for round 2

The Indianola Academy Colonels appear to be playing like a team on a mission.

One football game at a time.

With last Friday’s 35-7 home-field playoff opening win over Tunica Academy in the books, the 7-4 Colonels are now only two victories away from a fifth consecutive state championship game appearance.
