Coaches prep for gridiron return: Gentry, Thomas E. Edwards look to safely hit the practice field soon

These Coronavirus times may be uncertain but plans for the 2020 high school football season have begun to be put into place.

Most recently, the Mississippi High School Athletic Association announced that June 1 will be the date which its member schools may begin their summer workout schedule.



Roberson, Putnam ink baseball scholarships

Indianola Academy athletes Spencer Roberson and Thomas Putnam signed commitments to play at the junior college level next year. Roberson will be a dual sport athlete at Hinds Community College, kicking for the football team and playing for the baseball squad as well. Putnam will play baseball at Mississippi Delta Community College.





IA splits Kirk series

Continuing to dodge the rain, the Indianola Academy Colonels baseball team was able to open their new season Monday night by splitting a double header.

In this twin-bill played at Kirk Academy in Grenada, the Colonels rebounded from a 6-5 first game loss with a 12-6 weather shortened victory over the Raiders in the nightcap.
