Bible Study Classes

Explorer’s Bible Study announces its Spring, 2019 classes: Monday evening classes are at 6:30 p.m and Thursday morning classes begin at 9:15 a.m. today. Both classes will meet in the Chapel of First United Methodist Church located at 205 Second Street in Indianola to study "Making Sure of the Truth: Philemon, Colossians, Jude, 2 Peter, and 1, 2, 3 John."  The cost of the workbook is $30.00 for the semester. Women’s Auxiliary


The Sunflower County Women’s Auxiliary will have their regular monthly meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday in the fellowship hall of First United Baptist Church, 720 Coolidge Street. Members are encouraged to bring what was voted on to the meeting. If you have any questions you may contact Ms. Shirley Burks at 662-887-4027 or any members  of the Women’s Auxiliary.


Community and

Family Prayer

Rash Temple Church of God in Christ located in Sunflower will hold community and family prayer at 9 a.m. Saturday.  Each second Saturday prayer will be held at the church.


Birthday Celebration

There will be a birthday celebration in honor of Evangelist Sarah Hall at 5 p.m. Sunday at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 2110 Kinlock Road. Celebration will feature Pastor Elijah Walker & Chritian Fellowship Choir and Pastor John Ware & Church of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Choir Dr. Rev. C. W. Ray & The Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Choir, and more! For more information contact 887-2267.


Ross Ministries Classes

Ross Ministries School of Discipleship, a non-profit organization, will begin its 2019 school year on January 16, open to the public and no registration required. The lesson, “How to become a water walker by building yourself in your most holy faith” will begin at 6:15 p.m. on Jan. 16th and will continue each Wednesday through Feb. 6th at Full Gospel Church, located in the Lovelace Shopping Center next to the Tower Loan building.


Women’s Prayer Brunch

Living Word Church of God, located at 9 Crouch Road-Pine Street, Moorhead, cordially invites you (women only, please) to its Women’s Fellowship Prayer Brunch to be held at 10 a.m.  Saturday, Jan. 19th. The theme is Power of a Praying Woman.

Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Program

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration Committee will host its annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. program at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 20 at Mount Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, 310 Church Street. The guest speaker will be Senator Willie Simmons. Musical selections will be provided by the Mount Beulah Church Choir, Gentry High School Choir and Robert L. Merritt Junior High School Choir. Talent will be privided by students from the locval schools. Everyone is invited to attend.


Children Story Time

Rash Temple Church of God in Christ located at 510 North Martin Luther king Jr., Ave in Sunflower will be providing reading and crafts and music at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays to children 2 to 12. Refreshments will be served. Special guest Gail Brinston, Sunflower County Library Systems Public Service Coordinator will be sharing stories and crafts. The community is welcome.


Month’s Prayer Revival:  A Holy Consecration

Trinity House of Prayer invites everyone to come out and join them in Prayer Revival  with prayer at 6 p.m. and worship service at 7 p.m. nightly Monday through Friday, now through January 31  at Trinity House of Prayer, 64 Pine Street, Moorhead. Mardis Gras Fundraiser

The parishioners of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church invite the community to their 7th Annual Mardi Gras Dance Fundraiser.  An evening of Line Dancing & Second Lining Mardi Gras Style, at St. Benedict the Moor Center  from 8 p.m. until midnight Saturday, February 2. A donation of $15 per person in advance and $20 at the door. All proceeds will benefit the St. Benedict the Moor Building Fund. Revival on the River

You are invited to attend Revival on the River, a day of unified worship and community, from 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019. The event, featuring the group “People & Songs,” will be held between the bridges in downtown Greenwood.
