The Gentry High Class of 1980 is having a benefit program at 7 p.m. Saturday at First United Baptist Church located at 720 Coolidge Street.

The Gentry High Class of 1974 will have a meeting at 5 p.m. Sunday at Pizza Hut.
Class of ‘69
The Gentry High Class of 1969 will have a class meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at Pizza Hut.
Sunflower County Consolidated School District Board Meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 16 at the Indianola Central Office, Hwy 49 N 196 MLK Jr. Road.
Food Box Pickup
The Sunflower County Bill Richardson Civic Alliance Group will issue food boxes Monday, July 23 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, July 24 from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. to those certified to receive food boxes. Boxes not picked up by 12:15 Tuesday will be issued from 12:15 to 1 to persons on the waiting list. The group does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability (not all prohibited bases apply to all programs).
Moton’s 6th Back to School Rally
There will be a Back to School Rally for students of Ruleville Public Schools at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 at Ruleville City Park. There will be school supplies, refreshments and entertainment provided. Parents are to accompany kindergarten through eighth graders. Contact sponsor, Minister Levester Moton at 207-0584.
SCCSD along with the Mississippi Summer Food Service Program is offering summer meals available to all children 18 years and younger at no cost! Breakfast will be from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Lunch 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Participating schools are Drew Hunter Middle, Ruleville Middle, Ruleville Central High, Gentry High, East Sunflower Elementary, James C. Rosser Elementary, Inverness Elementary and Lockard Elementary.

nPin the Hair on the Musician 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. July 19 at the Inverness Public Library. This program will be educational and fun for the children to learn about famous musicians. They will discover the different hair styles of famous musicians through this interactive game.
nAdult’s Healthy Hour - Maintaining a Healthy Lifestyle 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. July 19 at the Henry M. Seymour Library. A health professional will discuss helpful tips about maintaining a healthy lifestyle that is very beneficial to the entire family.
nDrum City: Get Ready to Make Some Noise! 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. July 21 at the Henry M. Seymour Library. The story Drum City by Thea Guidone will be read and children will get to pick their instruments out for their drum created during craft time.
nDinosaur Dig. 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. July 26 at the Henry M. Seymour Library. This will be an educational program about dinosaurs and fossils geared for young children.
nHow to make your own Guitar Picks. 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. July 30 at Moorhead Public Library and July 31 at the Inverness Public Library. The young adults will learn about guitars and how to make a guitar pick.
MSU Extension Service
nDiabetic Support Group meets the 4th Thursday of every month during the noon hour at the B.B. King Museum. A lunch is served along with an educational component to help you better understand diabetes. (July 26, August 23)
nSunflower Stitchers meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Extension office (July 18, August 15)
