MSU Extension

Service

   Make plans to improve your health habits by joining the Fit4Life senior citizens exercising class in a FREE video-led fitness class from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday at the Extension office. Please call 887-1901 to sign up.

Homecoming 2019 Tailgating Meetings

   The Ram Alumni Homecoming Committee will meet from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. each Tuesday in the Carver gym to complete plans for Homecoming 2019 tailgating. All graduating classes that plan to tailgate MUST send class representatives to these meetings.

Reading and Math

Tutoring

   Tutoring services are being offered by Trinity Outreach Church, located at 504 Roosevelt Street. Students ages 5 to 14 will receive Reading and Math instruction from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Refreshments will be provided. Contact Pastor Charlene Walker at 662-574-6773 for more info.

A.C.T. Dialogue

Session

   The Mississippi Workers Center for Human Rights will present their project, A.C.T. (Achieving Community Transformation): A Community Dialogue Session from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Higher Heights Missionary Baptist Church, located at 303 Pershing Street, Moorhead. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. For more info call 662-931-0111.

GHS Class of ‘75

   The Gentry High School Class of 1975 will meet at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mount Beulah M.B. Church. All class members are asked to come out to help in the planning of the 45th reunion 2020.

Food Box Pick Up

   The Sunflower County/Bill Richardson Civic Alliance Group will issue food boxes from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9 and from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 to those certified to receive food boxes. Boxes not picked up by 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday will then be issued from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. to persons on the waiting list. The Group does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability (not all prohibited bases apply to all programs).

Mission Mississippi

   You are invited! Mission Mississippi is a group of Christians from different churches from all over Sunflower County who cross racial and denominational lines to gather as one. They welcome you to join them for the first gathering of the new program year.  They will discuss possible books or articles that they will want to read and discuss this year that will help them grow together in faith, hope and love. They will gather at noon on Thursday, Sept. 12th at Center CME Church, 307 Roosevelt Street (at the corner of Roosevelt and Church Streets).
