How about a cool coding program? Join the Prenda Holiday Code Challenge today! You are invited to join in a free coding contest the library is hosting this holiday season! This is for kids ages 8-18 of all skill levels. Never coded before, not a problem. Participants will create accounts in Prenda Code Club and learn how to code and build a special Holiday themed project. Contest ends January 31, 2021. Join us for Virtual Storytime on the “Sunflower County Library” YouTube channel. Relax with us this week for an Adult Coloring Session. Stop by any branch of the Sunflower County Library System and pick your Adult Coloring Sheet. Log onto the “Sunflower County Library” YouTube Channel and/or the “Fans of the Sunflower County Library System” Facebook Group to be a part of our Virtual Experience. Don’t forget to subscribe and click the “Like” button. Also, complete a Patron Comment Form online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/virtualsunflowerlibrary or stop by any branch of the Sunflower County Library System.
Join the “Fans of the Sunflower County Library System” Facebook Group page on Tuesdays and Thursdays for your Virtual Jigsaw Puzzle. “Grab and Go” craft and activity bags can be picked up at any branch of the Sunflower County Library System. Please call the branch nearest you for availability.
The Sunflower County Library provides virtual resources on the library’s website at (www.sunflower.lib.ms.us). Such resources include World Book Encyclopedia Online with access to informational articles, videos, activities, and eBooks. The MAGNOLIA database provides access to journal articles, newspaper articles, videos, and eBooks. Learning Express is available to help with career preparation, high school equivalency credential prep, college admissions test prep (ACT, SAT, AP), and K-12 classroom skills and homework help. Digital Learn is available to provide computer use tutorials. Newspaper articles are also available through our Online Catalog News Feed. Our Web Links pages provide access to informational websites. The library provides access to eBooks through our Hoopla Digital platform.
All programs are free and available to the public. Social distancing measures are in place at all library branches. Please remember to be kind to others and wear a face mask.
