Plans are underway for Indianola’s citywide Thanksgiving service. Committee members announce that the service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. at First United M.B. Church, 718 Coolidge Street.
“We are very pleased to host this year’s service and look forward to the great fellowship,” said the Rev. Clifford Wilson, pastor, First United M.B. Church.
The annual service brings together residents from diverse backgrounds and denominations for the sole purpose of worship and fellowship.
The Rev. Trey Skaggs, newly-elected pastor of First United Methodist Church, will deliver the message.
Various ministers from across the city will also help lead the service. An ecumenical mass choir will render music.
Persons interested in singing in the choir should make plans to arrive at the church at 5:00 p.m., for a one-hour rehearsal.
According to Rev. Wilson, proceeds from the service are used to make a difference in the community.
“In addition to adopting families for Christmas, we will also have an opportunity this year to partner with a local civic organization in providing hot Thanksgiving meals to needy families and the elderly.”
Committee members encourage everyone to attend Sunday’s service.
