Court clerk’s offices wiped clean after reported contact with COVID patientBy BY RECARDO THOMAS STAFF REPORTER,
Those driving down Main Street last week may have observed what may have appeared to be a scene from a Sci-Fi movie.
Reportedly, three inmates from the Sunflower County jail donned hazmat suits to disinfect and sanitize the Sunflower County Justice Court Clerk’s offices.
According to Sunflower County Administrator Gloria McIntosh, “A person who tested positive was in the building. We sent all employees home to quarantine.” McIntosh said the person stated that he had tested positive to someone else and it was confirmed.
She said once Justice Court Clerk Patricia Strong heard it, she informed her that the person had been in the office. “The building was disinfected. The employees are working behind their work stations and are instructed to still remain a social distance,” McIntosh said.
She added that the employees also have masks and gloves and have been instructed to wipe down after each visit.
