COVID-19 cases rise slightly over the weekend locally

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sunflower County has risen slowly, but the rise is steady.

The Mississippi State Department of Health said today there are now 11 confirmed coronavirus cases in the county, and there is still only one death locally related to the illness.

There are now 847 cases statewide, as testing becomes more widespread this week, and there are 16 total deaths in Mississippi.


Basketball practice has already started for some at North Sunflower Academy.
