COVID-19 cases top 200 in Sunflower County

By BRYAN DAVIS PUBLISHER,

Sunflower County has broken the 200 mark when comes to confirmed cases of COVID-19.

This week’s print edition of The E-T focuses heavily on the recent spike in cases in the area, particularly in Indianola.

The E-T went to press yesterday with 172 cases confirmed, but that number had risen by the time the paper returned to the racks to 189.

Today, the Mississippi State Department of Health says there are 209 confirmed cases in the county, with six deaths related to the coronavirus.

That number, according to local health experts, is likely higher as the data provided by MSDH often lags behind.
