The Indianola Academy Colonels football team is heading back to Jackson.
The 9-4 IA team will play in the state championship game for the fifth consecutive year.
The Colonels last won the state title in 2016, but they have become a mainstay in Jackson for the last half decade.
Unlike the last three years, the road to Jackson in 2019 came on the road, with a win against Marshall Academy last Friday night in the quarterfinals and a 35-28 hard-fought road win at Winona Christian School tonight.
IA will face St. Joe, a familiar foe, at 3 p.m. on Friday at Jackson Academy.
Be sure to pick up a copy of Thursday’s E-T print edition for more state championship coverage.
