Law enforcement officials from across the area will get a chance to hear Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hosemann’s take on prison reform on Monday. Hosemann will be the special guest speaker at this month's Mid-Delta Law Enforcement Coalition luncheon and his audience will not only include law enforcement personnel, but other state and local elected officials.
This month's gathering of area law enforcement leaders is hosted by Sunflower Police Chief Bobby Walker and is set for February 17 at 11 a.m. at the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center in Indianola. Sunflower Mayor Desiree’ Norwood will provide the opening remarks.
In addition to Lt. Governor Hosemann, the Honorable Judge Kuykendall Horne-Murry will briefly explain the structure, role and purpose of the state's intervention courts including the newly-formed misdemeanor intervention court in the city of Indianola.
The Mid-Delta Law Enforcement Coalition is comprised of law enforcement officers, police chiefs and sheriffs from nine counties across the Mississippi Delta and is currently headed by Indianola Police Chief Edrick Hall.
