Pullover turns to spillover

An 18-wheeler truck traveling north on U.S. 49 made an unscheduled delivery stop on Monday when some of the product ended up in the ditch on the east side of the road.

The driver of the big rig reportedly pulled over onto the shoulder and according to Sheriff James Haywood the weight of his load shifted and the truck and trailer ended up on its side causing product to spill out into the ditch and onto the edge of the adjacent field about 1.5 miles north of U.S. 82.

The driver, who was hauling a variety of fruit-flavored drinks, was reportedly uninjured and the investigation is now in the hands of the Mississippi State Highway Patrol.
