Mound Bayou-based Delta Health Center conducted a two-day mobile COVID-19 testing site in Indianola on April 29 and 30 and the results are in and only about 1.7 percent of the people who took advantage of the clinic tested positive for the Coronavirus.
Adoris Turner, director of external relations for the center, said that of the 688 persons tested over the two-day period only 12 tested positive. According to him, 9 of the 12 were asymptomatic and the other three were symptomatic.
The clinic reported a total of 397 persons showed up for testing on Wednesday and an additional 291 tested on Thursday.
Turner said they have already tested nearly 1,800 people in three cities across the Delta including Mound Bayou, Cleveland and Indianola with only 31 persons testing positive and 1,764 negative results.
Delta Health Center reportedly had mobile test sites set up in Greenville on Thursday.
Turner had stated previously that when the individual test results are complete the person would be contacted and the clinic would be responsible for notifying state health officials of the statistical results.
