Storm system causes flooding and damage in Indianola

A large weather system passed through Mississippi on Wednesday night into Thursday morning, affecting travel and homes in Sunflower County.

Several roads across the city of Indianola, including Kinlock, B.B. King, Garrard and others were flooded in many areas on Thursday morning.

Wind associated with the storm system also caused damage to a number of houses and businesses, including the office of Charles Davis Real Estate & Construction, which sustained damage from a tree falling into the side of the building.

An 18-wheeler and a car were reportedly forced off U.S. 82 heading west by wind on Thursday morning. Reports from the scene said that the occupants of the vehicles were okay.
