Two men confirmed missing from Parchman

By BRYAN DAVIS PUBLISHER,

The Mississippi Department of Corrections has confirmed two male prisoners are missing from Parchman.

David May, 42, and Dillion Williams, 27, were discovered missing during an emergency count about 1:45 a.m. today, MDOC said in a release this morning.

The E-T first reported late Friday night that at least one prisoner was assumed to be missing, as officials completed a headcount.

Rumors began circulating on social media late Friday evening about a potential escape, which may have occurred as a result of the chaos that ensued after the prison’s most recent riot and stabbing death on Friday.

MDOC’s facilities have been on lockdown since the start of the year, due to repeated fights that have broken out, which led to the deaths of three Parchman inmates in as many days.

The E-T was told on Friday by Sunflower County Sheriff James Haywood that the emergency headcount was being conducted, and it was connected to a game cam photo that had been taken at a property near Parchman on Friday, apparently showing an inmate from the neck down.

The time stamp on the photo, which was viewed by The E-T, is 11:45 a.m. on Jan. 3.

Haywood also indicated the headcount was connected to the theft of a 2011 GMC truck near Shelby in Bolivar County yesterday afternoon.

The E-T obtained two photos of law enforcement officers looking at what appeared to be clothes consistent with MDOC pants and a jacket, but we have not verified at this point whether those photos are connected to the missing inmates.

The following is from MDOC’s release about the missing men.

May is serving life for two aggravated assault convictions in Harrison County, and Williams is serving 40 years for residential burglary and aggravated assault in Marshall County.

The MDOC’s K9 and ERT with assistance from state and local law enforcement are searching for the men.

May, MDOC #55271, and Williams, MDOC #163974, are both black males of medium build with brown eyes and black hair.

May is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 171 pounds, with a medium complexion.

Williams is 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 175 pounds with a light brown complexion.

Anyone with information about May and Williams or know of their whereabouts should contact the MDOC at 662-745-6611 or the nearest law enforcement agency.
