Fighting Mississippi’s opioid epidemic has become the passion of one Indianola native.

Selene Dunn Maddox has been practicing law, specifically bankruptcy law, in north Mississippi for over 30 years, but she has never forgotten her roots in the Delta and Indianola.

Lion Randy Randall brought Carol Rose as his speaker to Lions Club last Wednesday (Dr. Sammy Rose also attended with Carol). Carol spoke on her vision challenges since her stroke two-and-a-half years ago.

Picking up another pair of basketball wins this past week, the 16-5, 5-0 Gentry High Rams will take to the road twice for Region 3-4A games in the upcoming days.






An avoidable tragedy?

It was a hot July day when a handful of witnesses noticed an airplane struggling to maintain altitude over a Mississippi Delta soybean field.
The Marine Corps KC-130 aircraft spiraled to the ground, killing all 16 servicemen on board, joining a list of nearly two dozen military aircraft accidents in 2017.
