Murder suspect still on the run, $1 million bond set for other

A $1 million bond has been set for alleged murder suspect Gereal Scott Galloway, 21, of 309 Mimosa Ave., in connection with the Thursday evening shooting death of 31-year-old Marrio Terell Applewhite.

Galloway, who is charged with first-degree murder, had his initial appearance in court on Tuesday before Judge Kuykendall Murry.








Our community is just fine

Kudos to the Indianola Police Department, the Fire Department and all of the other volunteers who made Gentry’s Homecoming a festive and safe night for visitors and residents.

Many had been on edge about the night’s festivities following a shooting that took the life of a young man in the city 24 hours before kickoff on Friday night.

Things worked out better for that Florida kid who was bullied for wearing a make-shift Tennessee Vols T-shirt to school than they did for me and my red corduroy jeans.

Laura Snyder, the fourth grader’s teacher at Altamonte Elementary School in Altamonte Springs, Fla., posted the story on Facebook about the Tennessee-obsessed student.
