Project LISTEN holds ceremony

The Project LISTEN program of Sunflower Humphreys County Progress, Inc., held its culmination ceremony recently at the Humphreys County Multi-Purpose Building in Belzoni.

LISTEN participants provided musical entertainment, gave an overview of the project and held a panel discussion that addressed the benefit of the program.



County in danger of losing $180K grant for new 82 lane

A lingering issue about what to do with nearly $180,000 in grant funds awarded to establish a deceleration lane on the eastbound side of U.S. 82 in front of Irrigation Equipment is still lingering.

A grant awarded by the Delta Regional Authority is in danger of being returned unless additional money is put into the project.
