John David Davenport Jr., 55, of Indianola, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, at Delta Health System - The Medical Center in Greenville.
David was born Aug. 30, 1965 in Ruleville, to John David Davenport and Barbara Carpenter Davenport. He worked as a roofer for many years until his health forced him to retire. David was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing video games. He was a wonderful son, brother, father and grandfather. David would give you the shirt off his back and would do without so that others could have. He would never ask anyone for anything and never complained.
He is survived by his parents, Johnny and Barbara Davenport of Indianola; two sons, John David Davenport III and Christopher Ryan Davenport, both of Indianola; one sister, Cindy Davenport Tullos (Mike) of Minter City; and one grandson, Masen Gray Davenport.
The family received friends Friday, Feb. 26 from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service at Roundaway Baptist Church in Doddsville. Burial followed in Roundaway Cemetery
The Rev. Bob Hill officiated at the services.
Burton Funeral Home of Indianola was entrusted with arrangements.
