On Friday, April 10, Alberta Garner’s life was cut short just before dawn after shots rang out on Garrard Avenue in Indianola.

Gardner is the city’s second female victim of gunfire this year, and according to police reports, she is likely the second innocent bystander to be killed in Indianola since March.

Friday morning shooting in Moorhead may have been retaliation for 2019 murder

An early morning shooting in Moorhead on Friday has resulted in two arrests and a warrant being issued for a third person.

Moorhead Police Chief Fred Randle said on Tuesday that Robert E. Scott, 18, and Christian Washington,17, have been arrested and charged with being an accessory after the fact.

The children graduated Friday after completing a weeklong camp on fire safety where they were exposed to instructions on basic life saving techniques and the prevention and suppression of fires.
