SOCIETY COLUMN:  One of the most beautiful wedding ceremonies took place in Grenada when Miss Edith Brown was wed to Mr. F. B. Hays of Indianola.


Britt speaks to Rotary

Indianola Chamber Main Street Board President Cherri Lynn Britt spoke to the Indianola Rotary Club this week about several Chamber initiatives, including the Sept. 28 Indian Bayou Arts & Eats Festival, as well as upcoming fall events.







JMG Student of the Week

The Jobs for Mississippi Graduates Gentry Student of the Week is Sylvester Washington. The junior Indianola native plans to pursue a career in sports management with a dream job of being an NFL coach. His favorite hobbies are making money and hanging out with friends. Lott, Muncher to exchange vows

Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Todd Lott, of New Albany, announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Lott, to Garon Grant Muncher. 

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wesley Lott of Greenville and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Rhodes Hughes of Inverness.

Two Gentry High School juniors are among 130 students recently accepted by The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science to study in Columbus. MSMS is the state's nationally recognized residential high school for academically advanced eleventh and twelfth graders.

Shortly before Alabama mounted a historic come-from-behind win against Georgia in the SEC Championship Game last Saturday, another Yellowhammer state team was putting the finishing touches on a conference title of its own.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham defeated Middle Tennessee State 27-25 for the Conference USA title.
