Mr. Stanford, 41, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019 in Tampa.

A private burial will follow the service.


Doris Wilson-Gathers

Services for Doris Wilson-Gathers of Indianola will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Missionary Baptist Church, Indianola.

Ms. Wilson-Gathers, 72, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Byas Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.


Jimmy L. Douglas

Services for Jimmy L. Douglas of Moorhead will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Missionary Baptist Church, Moorhead.

Mr. Douglas, 74, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019 at South Sunflower County Hospital.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Redmon Funeral Home, Indianola.

Sesame Street in Communities providing local child trauma resources in Indianola

STONEVILLE, MS – Representatives from Sesame Workshop, the non-profit organization behind Sesame Street, were in the Mississippi Delta recently to provide updated training for Delta Health Alliance employees on how to identify and work with children who have experienced traumatic events through the Sesame Street in Communities program.

Entergy talks proposed $138M Sunflower County solar farm

Entergy’s footprint in Sunflower County is about to get a lot bigger.

The utility, which services much of the Delta, announced last week that it is partnering with Recurrent Energy on a $138 million solar panel farm that will be located on a 1,000-acre site in the northern part of the county near Ruleville.
