Indianola Family Medical Group announced Friday that it plans to close the clinic on Monday, due to the expected winter storm moving in later Sunday into early Monday.
Delta Surgical Center and Phillips Health Center in Moorhead will also be closed. No decision has been made beyond Monday. Those who had appointments for Monday will be contacted next week to reschedule, IFMG said in a statement.
This potential ice storm still comes during the COVID-19 pandemic, which means that patients may need to seek care during whatever materializes weather wise over the next few days.
South Sunflower County Hospital Infectious Disease Nurse Henley Harrell said that anyone needing emergency medical attention, whether it be COVID-related or otherwise, should call 911.
People should not attempt to drive if the roads are hazardous.
Harrell also said the hospital has a contingency plan for the anticipated ice storm in case of power outages and other effects.
