Cops and Robbers February 13, 2020

Indianola police made the following arrests,

On February 6 at 7:31 p.m., Christopher Anthony Johnson, 44, 225 South Southwest Plaza was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of an intoxicating liquor or substance and no/expired driver's license after officers received a call about a reckless driver on U.S. Hwy 82 near Walmart. Johnson was reportedly driving a gold Pontiac Grand Prix with a Tennessee license plate and after officers caught up with him, he reportedly almost hit a patrol unit while attempting to turn onto Airport Road.

On January 4 at 3:04 p.m., Jeremy Woods, 34, 810 Airport Road was arrested and charged with shoplifting after officers converged on him at the corner of Bates and Curtis streets regarding a traffic stop. The officers reportedly seized a black Glock .45 automatic handgun.

On Sunday at 6:28 p.m., Katie Young, 48, 622 Oak St., and Willie Young, 60, same address, were arrested and charged with simple domestic violence after officers were called to their home about a fight in progress.

On Sunday at 6:44 p.m., Latasha Kirk, 37, 510 Clay St., was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct—disturbing the peace after officers were called to Church Street about a fight in progress. Kirk was reportedly arrested for talking loud and using profanity in public as well as attempting to fight with an unidentified man.

On Tuesday at 3:36 a.m., a 67-year-old South Walker Street woman said someone broke into her home through a back window, but nothing was taken.

On Saturday at 1:29 p.m., a 35-year-old Jefferson Davis Street woman said someone broke the glass out of a back window in her home in an attempt to break in, but they were unable to get in.

On Saturday at 7:28 p.m., a Kinlock Road woman and a 25-year-old Broadmoor Drive woman said a 29-year-old Lee Street man was disturbing the peace at the Green Acres apartment building.

On Sunday at 8:30 p.m., a 42-year-old Birdsong Street woman and a 32-year-old Birdsong Street man were involved in a domestic dispute where officers had to be called in.

On January 31 at 9:10 p.m., an Oak Street woman said someone vandalized her property.

On February 5 at 8:12 a.m., a Walmart employee said a 30-year-old Eastmoor Subdivision, Moorhead woman stole a black TCL 50-inch 4K TV valued at $248.

On Saturday at 1:03 p.m., a Janet Davis Circle woman said her cousin, a 59-year-old Janet Davis Circle man, has been trespassing on her property after he has been evicted.

On Friday at 2:27 p.m., a Walmart employee said a 23-year-old Railroad Avenue, Sunflower man stole $10 worth of chicken wings, a 5-gallon jug of water, $2 worth of hamburger buns, a pack of Dippin’ Stix valued at $1, two cans of Del Monte chunk pineapple and other food items valued at $21.

On Sunday at 7:43 p.m., a Walmart employee said that a 30-year-old Roosevelt Street woman walked out of the store with a Philips 32-inch TV.

On Monday at 6:18 p.m., a Walmart employee said that a 30-year-old Roosevelt Street woman came into the store and walked out with a TCL 55-inch flat screen TV valued at $286, without ever trying to pay for it.

On February 4 at 8:06 a.m., a 28-year-old Jefferson Street woman said a 31-year-old Ethel Waters Drive man cut two tires on her Buick while it was parked at the Delta Inn and Suites on U.S. Hwy 82.

On February 2 at 4:11 p.m., a 19-year-old East Quiver Street, Sunflower woman and a 22-year-old Herman Johnson Street man were involved in a domestic dispute on Herman Johnson Street.

On Sunday at 12:07 p.m., a Napanee Road, Leland resident said a 31-year-old Chapman Street woman assaulted her at the Double Quick store in the 100 block of U.S. Hwy 82.

On February 3 at 10:25 a.m., a North Davis Circle woman said someone hit her 2006 Chevy Cobalt in the 300 block of U.S. Hwy 82 in front of the Indianola Veterinary Clinic and left. Reportedly, there was damage to her car, but no injuries were reported.

On January 28 at 10:25 p.m., a 64-year-old B. B. King Road woman said her son, a 35-year-old B. B. King Road man, pushed her down in her bedroom causing her to do hit the floor and hit her face on the floor. She said he also punched her in the face with his fist although there were no visible signs of injury. The woman said she would press charges against him for assault.

On January 31 at 10:27 a.m., a Love's Truck Stop employee said a 30-year-old Eastmoor Subdivision, Moorhead woman stole a Skull Candy headset valued at $71 from the store.

On Friday at 7:55 p.m., a 49-year-old Gillespie Drive woman and a 25-year-old Gillespie Drive man said someone fired shots into their home.

On Friday at 11:45 a.m., a Walmart employee said that a 30-year-old Roosevelt Street woman stole a 43-inch TCL 4K TV valued at $218.

On February 2 at 12:53 p.m., a 35-year-old Aquarius Circle woman said a 35-year-old Aquarius Circle man hit her in the side and head with a wine bottle.

On January 31 at 7:43 p.m., a 36-year-old North Davis Circle woman said that her uncle, a 56-year-old East Herman Johnson Street man, threatened her with a handgun and told her that he would blow her brains out, so she wants to press charges.

On January 28 at 12:40 p.m., a 25-year-old Bates Street woman said her sister, a 20-year-old Barnes Street woman, assaulted her during a fight near the intersection of Broadmoor Drive and U.S. Hwy 49.

The following persons were booked into the Sunflower County jail February 4 to February 11,

On February 4 at 3:50 p.m., Jeremy Cortez Woods, 34, 810 Airport Road, Apt., 48, was arrested and charged with shoplifting, felon in possession of a firearm and child desertion/neglect/non-support.

On February 5 at 5:36 p.m., Floyd Whitaker, 39, 125 James Corder, Road was arrested and charged with probation violation.

On Thursday at 11:01 a.m., Jennifer Moore, 48, 705 Roosevelt St., was arrested and charged with child desertion/neglect/non-support.

On Thursday at 5:20 p.m., Ryan Cordell Woodfork, 31, 113 Ethel Waters Drive, was arrested and charged with contempt of Municipal Court.

On Saturday at 2:32 p.m., Mary Lindsey, 31, 3802 Skyline Drive, Jackson was arrested and charged with introduction of contraband into a correctional facility.

On Saturday at 11:05 p.m., Reginald Ralphael Minniefield, 41, 611 Hoover St., was arrested and charged with contempt of Municipal Court.

On Sunday at 10:31 a.m., Keisha Johnson, 38, 3900 MS Hwy 178 East, Fulton, Mississippi was arrested and charged with possession of alcohol on MDOC grounds.

On Sunday at 3 p.m., Shakeita George, 32, 228 South Martin Luther King Drive, Sunflower was arrested and charged with running a stop sign and no/expired driver's license.

On Monday at 9:43 a.m., Eugene Mitchell McShane, 44, 104 Janet Davis Circle, was arrested and charged with trespassing upon the enclosed land of another and shoplifting.

On Monday at 2:01 p.m., Bruce Leon Hillie, 23, 403 Walker St., was arrested and charged with armed robbery.

On Tuesday at 9:58 a.m., Lakala Thornton, 19, 8551 Sykes Park, Jackson was arrested and charged with shoplifting.

On Tuesday at 10:07 am, Tyzeta Lomax, 18, 2939 Theresa Drive, Jackson was arrested and charged with shoplifting.
