The B.B. King Museum & Delta Interpretive Center will receive a boost for its education programs.
According to a release this week, the museum will receive a $21,000 grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission that will go toward its growing list of education programs.
MAC will release around $1.4 million in grants across the state during 2019-20, the release said.
The National Endowment of the Arts and the Mississippi state Legislature are the two main funders of MAC.
“The Mississippi Arts Commission supports arts activities in nearly every corner of the state through grants to arts organizations, schools, communities and units of government,” said Malcolm White, executive director of MAC. “The projects and programming these organizations produce with MAC funds helps enrich our state’s communities. This funding helps organizations provide arts experiences and educational opportunities to people who may not otherwise have access to the arts.”
