The number of COVID-19 cases in Sunflower County, along with deaths and long-term care facility outbreaks continue to rise.
As of Wednesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 854 positive patients in Sunflower County, with 17 deaths related to the virus.
According to MSDH, the Ruleville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center currently has 12 cases reported among staff and 22 cases reported among residents.
At Indywood Personal Care Home, there are five reported cases among staff and two among residents.
Walter B. Crook Nursing Facility in Ruleville has two cases reported among staff and one resident patient.
South Sunflower County Hospital Infection Disease Control Nurse said this week that hospitalizations remain stable at the Indianola facility, and there are still ICU beds and ventilators available, but there does remain a shortage of the two across the state.
