Family, friends and church members helped one Indianola resident celebrate over a century of life on Saturday when they participated in a “pass-by” to commemorate her 102nd birthday. Annie Dozier-Collins reached a milestone over the weekend and it was acknowledged with a cavalcade of well-wishers led by her pastor, the Rev. Adoris Turner II of the Mount Beulah Missionary Baptist Church.
Originating from the town of Inverness, Dozier-Collins has called Indianola home for almost 90 of her 102 years and has been a member of Mount Beulah for nearly as long. The centenarian was full of smiles as a result of the assembly and remarked, “I can't believe all of this is for me.” Pictured above are Glenda Huggins, Annie Dozier-Collins (seated), Annie Gregory, Cheryl Williams (caregiver) and Janetta Ford.
