Students enrolled in the Sunflower Humphreys County Progress Inc., DWDA/SHCPI/WIOA SELECT Program were honored recently during a special awards luncheon.
Leronda Sibley, SELECT coordinator, said certificates were presented to the students who successfully accomplished the objectives of the program, which are: completing the work readiness skills training, achieving their Career Readiness Certificates, fulfilling the requirements for their work-experience training, gaining their forklift certification (for some) and entering employment.
The program has been in existence since the inception of the agency; although it has been identified by other names, such as SETA, JTPA and WIA, and a total of 56 students were slated to receive the certification. A luncheon for students in the Ruleville area was held on Saturday.
