On Thursday, Indianola Police Department Dispatch Supervisor Cheryl Stewart Brown transmitted an “over and out” and went 10-3.
The 10-year veteran dispatcher said a teary farewell to her loving “work family” as she left the department to pursue other interests.
“I thought I would retire here, but God had other plans,” she said.
Brown struggled to apprehend the tears as she expressed her sentiment towards those she’s come to regard like relations.
“I know that y’all appreciated me and y’all respected… each and every one of y’all respected me. And I have nothing but love and respect for all of y’all.”
Her co-workers hosted a surprise going-away luncheon for her and were able to maintain the element of surprise by keeping her otherwise engaged.
“I appreciate what y’all have done. I’m still in you all hearts, y’all still in mine. I thank you all, I love you all,” Brown said, “And for the ones that weren’t here, let them know the same thing,” she added.
