Angie “Yank” Leavy

Services for Angie “Yank” Leavy of Indianola will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity House of Prayer, Moorhead.

Mrs. Leavy, 90, died Wednesday, March 27, 2019.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, with a family hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Byas Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Gardens.

Bishop Willie Knighten will officiate at the services.

Mrs. Leavy is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Leavy, Ellaweed (Jackie) Childs and Mary Sanders, all of Indianola; six sons, Willie Melton, Hervie Leavy Jr. and Gene Leavy, all of Chicago, Johnny (Pamela) Leavy of Hattiesburg, and Charles (Trina) Leavy and Andrew Leavy, both of Indianola; three sisters, EllaMae Nelson of Indianola, Emmaline Ross of Dayton, Ohio and Annie Esco of Chicago; one brother, Joe Louis Melton of Chicago; 51 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, god-children, other relatives and friends.


Perhaps this Friday night will begin to satisfy the hunger of a team of Tigers.
