Betty Sue Mallette

Betty Sue Mallette, 80, of Indianola, passed away Friday Sept. 13, 2019, in Pontotoc.

She was born Aug. 25, 1939, to Leon and Margaret Smith of Cleveland.  Betty Sue worked for Planters Bank and Trust in Indianola for many years. She had a deep love for her family and her Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 50 years, Robert Doty Mallette of Boyle. They adopted two boys who survive her, Robert Jeffrey Mallette and wife Lisa of Indianola and Mickey Mallette and wife Beckyanne of New Albany.  She also leaves five grandchildren: Scarlett, Grace, Sam, Anne Meredith and Sarah Mallette; as well as great-grandchildren. 

Visitation was held from 1p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16 at the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church in Indianola with funeral services immediately following in the sanctuary of the church with Dr. Guy Burke officiating. Burial followed in Indianola City Cemetery.

Burton Funeral Home of Indianola was entrusted with arrangements.
