Earl Mims

Services for Earl Mims of Louise will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Horeb Missionary Baptist Church, Louise.

Mr. Mims, 75, died Saturday, July 20, 2019.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, with a family hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Byas Funeral Home, Belzoni, which is in charge of arrangements.

Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Gardens, Indianola.

The Rev. Tawana Ray will officiate at the services.

Mr. Mims is survived by his wife, Diane Collymore Mims; four daughters, Shelia Mims of Olympia Fields, Fla., Angela Mims of St. Paul, Minn., Mildred “Lilly” Dixon of Louise and Deborah McClendon (Mike) of Palmetto, Fla.; three sons, Walter L. McNeal (Linette) of Raleigh, N.C., Marcus Mims (Emma) of Chicago and Craig Henderson of Palmetto, Fla.; five brothers, Sylvester Mims (Billie), Claudell Mims (Anna), and Elmer Mims (Damita), all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Elbert Mims (Ann) of Belzoni and his twin brother, Ervin Mims of Pittsburg, Pa.; five sisters, Letha Dell Gentry and Helen Schaeffer, both of St. Louis, Mary Lee Mims and Lucy Mae Mims, both of Louise and Virginia Milam of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
