Services for Ray Woods Jr. of Indianola were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at Church of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Mr. Woods, 72, departed from this life on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020.

Visitation was from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Redmon Funeral Home, Indianola, which was in charge of arrangements.

Burial was in Markham Cemetery, Moorhead.

Ray Woods Jr. was born Oct. 9, 1947 in Moorhead to Ray and Catherine Woods. He was the first child of fourteen born to this union. Ray. Jr. grew up in Moorhead and at the age of 19 moved to New York, New York, where he lived for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Bobbie Francis and Inita Little; and one brother, Leroy Woods.

Ray Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: three daughters, Sonji Woods and Yolanda Bree Fason, both of New York, N.Y. and Diane Brown of Florida; two sons, Rodney Woods of New York, N.Y. and Jarell Woods of Memphis; a son-in-law, Ronald Fason of New York, N.Y.; six sisters, Melba (Charles) Hawkins of Indianola, Surfronia Calvert of Moorhead, Delphine Williams and Janice (Samuel) Hurt, both of Greenville, Debra Woods of St. Louis, Mo. and Verdell German of Charleston, S.C.; four brothers, John (Francis) Woods of Moorhead, William Terry (Tina) Woods of Long Island, N.Y., Elvis Woods of Greenville and Curtis Woods of Parchman; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
