Sue Cummins Grissette

Graveside services for Sue Cummins Grissette, 83, of Indianola, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at Roundaway Baptist Church Cemetery in Doddsville with the Rev. Bob Hill officiating.

Sue passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2020 at her home. She was born Sept. 30, 1936, in East Prairie, Mo., to Harry R. Cummins Sr. and Eleanor DeLaine Evans Cummins.  She worked as a clerk for many years for the Indianola Municipal Court until her retirement in 1995. Sue was a faithful member of Roundaway Baptist Church in Doddsville. She was a very kind soul who would do anything to help someone in need. Sue dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Eleanor DeLaine Cummins; her husband, Joe R. Grissette Sr.; one son, Joe R. Grissette Jr.; and five brothers, Teddy Cummins, Jack Cummins, James Cummins Sr., Bruce Cummins and Fred Cummins.

Sue is survived by two sons, Rusty Grissette of Springdale, Ark. and Ricky Grissette and wife Teresa of Indianola; one daughter, Cindy Wilkinson and husband Randy of Springdale, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Sharon Grissette of Tchula; one brother, Harry Cummins Jr.; one sister, Nancy Collins of Moorhead; nine grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Burton Funeral Home of Indianola was entrusted with arrangements.
