The 2021 schedule for the Mississippi Delta Community College softball team has been announced, and has the Trojans playing a 42-game schedule for the upcoming season.
This is a four-game difference from the schedule that usually consists of 46 games, but will still feature the regular 28-game Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) schedule.
Delta will get the 2021 season and non-conference portion going on Friday, Feb. 5 when MDCC travels to Pineville, La., to take on Louisiana College JV. The Trojans will play 10 more games in between before wrapping up the out-of-conference slate on Friday, Feb. 19, when Delta heads to Camden, Ark., to face Southern Arkansas University Tech.
On Saturday, Feb. 27, MDCC will begin the 28-game conference schedule when the program travels to Meridian Community College for a double dip. The first conference doubleheader at home will take place on Tuesday, March 2, as Itawamba Community College comes to Moorhead at 12 p.m. This is the beginning of an eight-game home stand, as Delta will then welcome Jones College on March 6, Coahoma Community College on March 10 and Hinds Community College on March 13.
MDCC travels to Perkinston to face Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Saturday, April 24 to wrap up the 2021 regular season.
The MACCC is currently still in the process of finalizing information in regards to fan capacity, who is allowed to come to home/away games, etc. This also goes for the 2021 playoffs, which are still under discussion due to COVID-19.
