Carlton Earl Anderson, 34, was indicted Monday in Sunflower County Circuit Court on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the 2022 death of Carmini “Roche” White, 37.
The indictment was handed down at the Sunflower County Courthouse, 200 Main Street, on Oct. 13. Prosecutors allege Anderson fatally shot White on Dec. 8, 2022. The charge carries a firearm enhancement, increasing potential sentencing if convicted.
Court records show Anderson was already out on bond from a separate 2023 indictment for possession of a controlled substance, also enhanced by firearm. That charge was issued on Dec. 29, 2023, in Sunflower County.
Judge W. Ashley Hines presided over Monday’s proceeding, during which Anderson signed a waiver. He remains free on his previous bond as the murder case moves forward. Public Defender Demetrice Wells is representing him.
