Meet the Staff:

Bryan Davis

BRYAN DAVIS, Publisher

Bryan Davis is a Yazoo County native, with well over a decade experience in print media. He earned his bachelor's degree in journalism from Delta State University, along with a Masters of Arts in Teaching from DSU. He began his career at The Bolivar Commercial in Cleveland, followed by his first full-time job at The Yazoo Herald (Emmerich Newspapers) in 2007 as the sports editor.

He moved on to become sports editor at The Daily Times Leader in West Point, Miss. in 2010. He would later serve as managing editor there until taking the role as commercial real estate reporter at The Birmingham Business Journal. He followed that with a two-year stint at the University of Alabama's Alabama Center for Real Estate prior to being named publisher at The E-T in 2017. Bryan has been married to his wife, Callie, for nine years, and they are raising their two daughters, Ellie and Sarah, in Indianola. They attend First Presbyterian Church in Indianola. 


Recardo Thomas

RECARDO THOMAS, staff reporter

Recardo Thomas is an Indianola native. He holds degrees from Mississippi Valley State University and Mississippi Delta Community College. Prior to joining The E-T staff in 2015, he was the operations manager for WNLA in Indianola for 16 years. Thomas covers the Sunflower County Board of Supervisors, Indianola Board of Aldermen, Sunfower County Consolidated School District board as well as reporting other news and features.


Debbie Bethel

Debbie Bethel is a lifelong resident of Leland and has worked at the E-T as bookkeeper since 2015. Her duties include accounts receivable, accounts payable, circulation management and financial reporting.


Mary Howard Gary

Mary Howard Gary is an Inverness native and has been the advertising manager since 2015. She manages the advertising department and ensures that our customers get the best value for their money. She works directly with our customers to understand their needs and establish plans marketing plans that get results.


Jyesha Johnson

Jyesha Johnson is a native of Indianola and a 2015 graduate of Gentry High School. She attended Ole Miss and graduated in May 2019. She joined The E-T shortly after in the summer of 2019. She is the paper's primary ad builder, while also editing video and other production duties.
