The Senior Citizen Bingo Buddies selected two "Adopt-a-Teachers" from the Sunflower County Consolidated School District for the month of September.
The first was Ms. Cheryl Burnside, daughter of former teachers Albert and Birteen Burnside, who has been employed at Ruleville Central Elementary School for 26 years. Her dedication reflects her parents' commitment to the school system they loved, where they taught at Ruleville Elementary and Ruleville Central High School. Cheryl was adopted by Buddie Lynda Hannah, who admires her for following in her parents' footsteps.
The Bingo Buddies’ second selection for September’s Adopt-a-Teacher was Lucrecha Minton, a licensed beautician who signed up as a part-time substitute for the Sunflower County Consolidated School District. After serving as a substitute teacher, a vacancy became available, and Ms. Minton took a full-time position in the District. Lucrecha adjusted her schedule to accommodate both her clients and her school duties. Inspired by her mother, a retired Head Start teacher, Lucrecha is determined to serve in the education field. She was adopted by Buddie Phyllis Wash.
