There’s glory and wisdom in white hair! The Senior Citizen Bingo Buddies highlighted this fact as they ended 2024 with their first-ever “Silver Guys and Dolls” event.
This program was held at 12 noon on Monday, December 23, at the Annie Mae King Strong Community Center in Sunflower. The event was hosted by Sunflower’s own Tina Steele and the mistress and master of ceremonies were Evangelist Hermenia Clark and Supervisor Riley Rice. The Buddies selected different persons from Washington and Sunflower counties to accent their age. Emphasis was put on the beauty in white hair and white beards. These models showed the purity in their silver manes. The Guys lined up with their well-shaped white beards and hair and the Dolls were radiant with their beautiful, shining white hair. The Silver Guys’ platform was aligned with Lonnie Cooper, Mozell Harris, J.C. Reid Jr., Dennis Tilmon, Reverend Amos Gilmore, Lawrence Hampton and Roger Cooper. The Silver Dolls who adorned the room were Betty Jean Butler, Sandra Williams, Cynthia Blancher, Zellie Orr, Lillie Lavaleaux, Betty Davis and Elizabeth Ballard-Steen. The afternoon will be a memorable one for the participants and those who attended!
