It’s all water under the bridge…and some guns and drugs as well.
Sunflower County Sheriff James Haywood told The Enterprise-Tocsin this week that a contractor working under a rural county bridge discovered what amounts to tens of thousands of dollars in drugs and a half dozen guns.
Although they were located in pretty thick brush, Haywood said that it appeared that the stash was probably left there within the last week or so.
There were over one thousand Ecstasy pills, he said, along with cocaine and crystal methamphetamine, all of which was set to be turned over to the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Haywood quipped that anyone who wishes to claim the property may do so at their own peril.
“We are located at the Sunflower County Sheriff’s Department,” he said. “As a reward, we offer free room and board, free dental and medical plans and three meals a day. We offer access to a library also.”
