Director suspended, city and Humane Society at odds over shelter

The City of Indianola voted during a special called meeting last Thursday to suspend its animal shelter director without pay.
Mayor Ken Featherstone confirmed the move to The Enterprise-Tocsin, citing an ongoing investigation related to allegations of misconduct.

Goodwin thanks city for opportunity

Indianola City Clerk Angela Goodwin said goodbye during her final regular board meeting on Monday night.
Goodwin had announced her intent to resign this past June effective Oct. 1.
The board accepted that resignation officially this month.

Mayor says city will rebrand former trash division as part of overall plan to combat garbage pileup

A framework for cleaning trash, debris and yard waste in the city of Indianola seems to be coming together at city hall.
Mayor Ken Featherstone said this past Monday that he has committed to reorganizing the previously shuttered trash division and rebranding it the “aesthetics division.”
