Stuffed bear, chocolates, balloons, upgraded wedding ring, proposal, romantic dinner, special outing, roses, a special pair of shoes, nice watch, diamond bracelet with earrings to match, cologne/perfume… do you already know what you are going to get for the special person(s) in your life?
How long have you been anticipating the gift(s) that await you on February 14th? Did I perhaps give you an idea for both…LOL!
Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching.
We sometimes scramble and rip and run with trying to find the right “thing” to express our undying love for our spouse, children, parents, and other loved ones.
And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that (I am guilty of it myself); however, love for our living, loved ones should be expressed every time we are in their presence and while they can see, smell, and appreciate it.
And a physical gift is not necessarily required to let someone know they are loved.
Any kind gesture (message of comfort or appreciation, hug, buying lunch without being asked, massage, and self-written poem) will make a person feel loved.
Showing love also includes acceptance, respect, mutual trust, and loyalty.
Even with buying physical gifts, the cost of the gift is not as important as the thought put into the gift. Let’s unconditionally love on each other, not just on Valentine’s Day but every day…the gifts on that one day are just a bonus!
