This is a great question. What would your answer be or is there any day better than the other?
Is there a time when you feel closer to God and talk to Him about what is on your mind? Do we have set times that we study His Word and absorb the knowledge that He allows us to have about everyday life? For many of us we do have certain times we spend with the Lord and read His Word. For me it could be early morning, in the middle of the night, or midday. For my wife it is usually the first thing she does when she gets up in the morning.
All of us as Christians do talk to the Lord and seek His guidance in whatever we are doing. I also believe many that do not profess to be Christians talk to Him also. I often wondered how anyone can look around this earth and see the beauty of it and not believe in an eternal Creator.
I read something very interesting not long ago and it should speak volumes to anyone who would take time to read it. It is the truth and is a well-spoken answer to the question.
“One day, a young boy asked an old man: ‘Sir, which is the best day to pray?’ The wise old man replied: “My son, the best day to pray is the day before you die.” ‘The boy was astonished and replied: Sir, how can I know the day of my death?’ and the old man answered, “No one knows the day of his death, that’s why we need to pray every day.”
This is the only answer anyone could give to this question. No day is better than the other to pray and therefore we should talk to the Lord every day and seek Him every minute of the day. Psalm 46:1 tells us “God is our refuge and our strength…” and we depend on Him daily for life.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to “Pray without ceasing.”
Talking to God does not require an appointment. We should realize that He is ever present and with us in anything we attempt. We need to seek Him in everything and talk to Him daily. We should get up every morning and thank Him for another day of life and ask Him to guide us through the day. The times we feel God allows bad things to happen to us is not Him leaving us but when we leave Him seeking our own ways. Pray every day, pray continuously. He is with us every second of every day. He will console us and speak to us if we will listen to Him and study His Word.
The best day to pray is the day before you die!
