A familiar face has returned to Indianola and The Enterprise-Tocsin.
Former Publisher Bryan Davis arrived last week and began work once again at the helm of the newspaper, while Patrick Ervin, who had led the paper the last nine months, took over as editor at the Delta Democrat-Times in Greenville.
Ervin resides in Washington County. The DD-T is a sister paper to The E-T, and both are owned by Emmerich Newspapers.
“Coming back to The E-T is a dream come true,” Davis said. “I look forward to building on the relationships we forged during the five years I was here before and also building new ones moving forward.”
Davis served as publisher from 2017 until last April, when he departed to take the role of publisher of the Fayette County News in Fayette County, Georgia.
Ervin was hired shortly after his departure, bringing a wealth of editorial and leadership experience to Indianola.
“Throughout the last nine months, Patrick has kept The E-T profitable and entertaining for our readers,” Davis said. “I know he will be missed in the community. I wish him all the best in his new endeavor at the DD-T.”
Davis said the move to Georgia seemed like a good move last spring, but without going into too much detail, he said the grass was always greener in Sunflower County.
“I love Indianola,” Davis said. “My family loves Indianola. This is our home, and our time away only strengthened our love for the people of this community. We’ve missed each and every one of you.”
Ervin penned a farewell column that can be found on Page 4 of this edition.
