Christmas seems to bring out the best parts in all of us. That’s exactly what happened for Entrepreneurs On The Rise Incorporated, a promising youth group in Indianola. On Saturday, December 10, 2022, the youth group brough the city together for its first Christmas festival. The festival consisted of business and food truck vendors, toy drives, bouncy houses, go karts, and many more festive activities for all ages. Many of Indianola’s finest singing artists participated in the festival, too; Marion Cork, Cheryl McWhorter-Featherstone, Brother2Brother (Joshua and Jeremiah Crawford), B.B. King Museum All Stars, and both Thomas E. Edwards and Gentry High School bands and choirs were all in attendance to perform live on stage. When I asked A’Davion Bush who helped put the festival together, he replied, “The event was planned by the organization's executive members which includes myself, Eugene B. Pearson Jr., Madison White, Reagan Anthony, Bethany Stanford, and Jermaine King Jr. with the help of sponsors and aides who we all greatly appreciate.”
The event was inspired by Entrepreneurs OnYthe Rise Inc.’s passion to serve the community and promote community development for all who embody the Sunflower County community. They strived for the event to be community and family oriented, and after talking to many community members, the event was just that.
Entrepreneurs On The Rise Inc. was founded by Eugene in 2022. As explained by A’Davion, “The goal of the organization is to collaborate, expand, and provide exposure to many entrepreneurs and youth across the world; to mentor and to be involved in many communities and community events.” It is also the organization’s goal to offer mentorship in the departments of Cosmetology, Apparel, Media Influence & Management, Music Theory and Composing, and Fashion and Accessories. The vision of the organization is to be a service to many communities, providing additional sources of information and exposure to many youth who are interested in the field of entrepreneurship. To partner with organizations, businesses, etc. to establish efficiency within each youth’s choice of entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs On The Rise is looking for youth across the state and the world to mentor and to impact.
It is indeed a pleasure to see young people stepping up and being change agents in their communities and ultimately the world.
