Kevin Sebastian Smith Sr. {Pastor K}, originally from Indianola, is a pastor in Southaven,
Mississippi pastoring Success City Church. Starting to preach at a young age, Pastor K, as he
goes by, has always had love for Christ and the holy bible. Throughout his experience in the
ministry, he has traveled across the Delta, other parts of Mississippi, and several states, speaking
life into people and sharing God’s word with people.
When in the midst of brainstorming for the revival, he was asked what his vision for this revival
was, he urgently replied saying, “my vision ultimately is to be able to partner with local churches
to help increase spiritual empowerment through God's word”. With the support of reverend
Adoris Turner of Mount Beulah M.B. church, reverend Herman Cole of First United Baptist
church -Moorhead, and many others, his vision was fulfilled.
Over the course of the three nights, Pastor K spoke about many things and left the congregation
encouraged with the three sermons; “Jesus can fix it”, “You have authority”, and “For the
father”. These three nights were nothing but Holy Ghost filled, according to members of the
congregation. The nights consisted of people getting healed physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Briefly speaking to Pastor K after Sunday’s revival night, he told me, “the purpose of this event
was to show the love of God to the city and I hope this outside tent revival brought a spiritual
awakening to the city”. Continuing with his remarks, “Indianola, Mississippi, is a town of great
destiny and the Lord showed me he has many great plans for Indianola and he wants to remind
Indianola that he loves it and he is about to do great things here”, Pastor K said.
The Mercy Revival was a momentous occasion here in Indianola this past week. People left
brand new, whether that was physically, mentally, or spiritually. The overwhelming spirit of God
and the prophetic encounters surely did leave a mark here in Indianola. According to Pastor K
and his Success City Church staff, we must remain attentive for part two!
