GHS Class of 1975
The Gentry High School Class of 1975 is in the process of planning their 50th Reunion in 2025. Members are invited to attend meetings which are held at 9 a.m. every FIRST SATURDAY (next date: FEB. 1) at Jack’s restaurant in Indianola. The B.B. King Museum and the City of Indianola present Canvas & Conversations, a paint day for senior citizens, every FIRST TUESDAY (next date: FEB. 4) from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the museum. Light refreshments will be served.

Annual Tree Giveaway
The Sunflower County Soil & Water Conservation District
will host two tree giveaway days. The first giveaway will be in Ruleville at Lovett’s Auto Parts on THURSDAY, FEB. 13, and the second giveaway will be on FRIDAY, FEB. 14 at the USDA Service Center at 212 N. MLK Jr. Drive in Indianola. There will be hardwoods and some ornamentals available. They will begin at 8 a. m. at each location, so come early – supplies are limited.

Hough-Dement Animal Shelter Needs Your Help
Indianola’s Hough-Dement Animal Shelter is in immediate need of volunteers and supplies, but most importantly volunteers as there is currently one employee at the shelter. Aside from volunteer personnel, the shelter is always in need of dog food, cat food, bleach, collars, toys, cat litter, treats, small blankets, old linens (especially towels), and rags.
