Farmers Market Fridays take place every FRIDAY from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. inside the Indianola Community Wellness Center at 408 Moody Avenue. Fresh fruits and vegetables are available. Cash and cards accepted.

BeSMART: Control Your Diabetes for Adults
The BeSMART: Control Your Diabetes program is continuing at the B.B. King Museum from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on the FOURTH THURSDAY of each month (next date – AUG. 28). Lunch will be served. The B.B. King Museum and the City of Indianola present Canvas & Conversations, a paint day for senior citizens, every FIRST TUESDAY (next date: SEPT. 2) from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the museum. Light refreshments will be served.

Come and showcase your business as Sunflower-Humphreys Counties Progress, Inc. hosts Taste Your Way Around the World, a community service fundraiser, to take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, at the Indianola National Guard Armory. Hough-Dement Animal Shelter Needs Your Help
Indianola’s Hough-Dement Animal Shelter is in immediate need of volunteers and supplies, but most importantly volunteers as there is currently one employee at the shelter. Aside from volunteer personnel, the shelter is always in need of dog food, cat food, bleach, collars, toys, cat litter, treats, small blankets, old linens (especially towels), and rags.
