Conversation Meetings
The Sunflower County United For Children and the Sunflower County Consolidated School District will be hosting a Community Conversation meeting at 6:00p.m. tonight at the Fannie Lou Hamer Complex Building, 902 Bryon Street, Ruleville.
A second Community Conversation meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 at the Neighborhood Facility Building, 702 Roosevelt Street. All parents and community citizens are encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be served. We are looking forward to having a meaningful conversation at the meetings.
Gentry High School Class of 1968
There will be a meeting of all GHS classmates at 4 p.m. Saturday. This meeting will be held at the Indianola City Hall Annex directly behind the City Hall. Those of you that can attend, please come. Classmates we need your attendance and support.
Annual Queen Dance
Lonely Riders M/C Club will host their Annual Queen Dance from 8 p.m. until Saturday at St. Benedict the Moor Center, 403 Church Street. Trophies will be awarded for all events. Alumni Meeting
The Sunflower County Chapter of Alcorn State University National Alumni Association, Inc. will meet at 7 p.m. January 16 at Bell Grove Missionary Baptist Church, located on B.B. King Road. All members are encouraged to attend.
SCCSD Monthly Board Meeting
Sunflower County Consolidated School District January Board Meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16 at the Inverness Elementary School, 1101 Oak Street, 38753.
6th Annual Mardi Gras Dance
The parishioners of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church invite the community to their 6th Annual Mardi Gras Dance Fundraiser. An evening of Line Dancing & Second Lining Mardi Gras Style, at St. Benedict the Moor Center from 8pm until midnight Saturday, February 3. A donation of $15 per person in advance and $20 at the door will be collected.. All proceeds will benefit the St. Benedict the Moor Building Fund. MSU Extension Service
nThere will be a Delta Ag Expo Wednesday and Thursday, January 18 and 19, 2018 in Cleveland Mississippi. The Delta Ag Expo provides farmers, and others interested in agriculture, an opportunity to see the latest technology in agricultural products, services, and information. You will have the opportunity to view agricultural exhibits and talk with extension and research personnel and get up-to-date information for planning your crop year.
nThe Private Pesticide Applicator Certification Training and Recertification will be held at the Sunflower County Extension Office starting at 9:00 a.m. Thursdays, January 25, February 15, and March 15, 2018. There will also be additional certifications held at the Washington County Extension Office starting at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, and Thursday, March 8, 2018. A $20 fee per person is charged for this program. Check payable to MSU-ES is the preferred method of payment. NO CASH.
